Letter from the Editor-In-Chief
Welcome to Volume 9, Issue 2 of the Spanish Journal of Soil Science, which contains articles on various ecosystem services of soils in different geographical locations: carbon sequestration in vineyard soils (La Rioja, Spain), chemical fertility (Vietnam), soil sealing (Valencia, Spain), salinity mapping (Algeria), land degradation vulnerability assessment (Jordan) and effect of irrigation on soil carbonates dynamics (Navarra, Spain). I would also like to highlight the fantastic cover photo, “In the Shade of the Almond Tree” by Antonio Girona García, which is the winner of the Photography Competition of the SECS 2019, and which effectively contributes to the dissemination of the soils as aesthetic objects.
It is a pleasure to inform you that the quality indicators of the Journal are positive, since in the latest REDIB ranking the SJSS is ranked 130 out of 921 journals with a Percentile of the Normalized Impact Factor of 70% (https://redib.org/resources/Ranking/Magazines?lng=es).
As always, on behalf of the Editorial Team, we thank the authors for sending the manuscripts, the guest editors for their rigor in the selection and review of manuscripts, the referees for the quality of their reviews, and the team Universia for its professionalism.
Sincerely,
Rosa M. Poch
