Letter of the Editor-In-Chief

I welcome you to the latest issue of Volume 5 of the Spanish Journal of Soil Science. This issue comprises eight articles from different countries, on different subjects ranging from the dynamics of organic and inorganic contaminants to parameters for soil microbial quality, organic matter and paleoenvironmental indicators.

It is a pleasure to announce that the articles of SJSS are being indexed in Scopus from this year, and within 6-8 weeks the platform will be indexing the rest of the articles from the beginning of the Journal in 2011. The visibility the SJSS in Scopus is a step in the recognition of the rigorous scientific and editing work of both authors and reviewers, and the careful and enthusiastic work of the Universia.

We are confidant this good work will continue to ensure the quality of the Journal, the submission of quality manuscripts and, ultimately, their full visibility in international indexing databases.
